History:

The Northglenn Community Foundation was started in 1988 as the Northglenn Park Foundation to assist with the development of parks and recreation areas and facilities within the City of Northglenn. In 2004, the Park Foundation saw a need to expand beyond parks and recreation and widen the breadth of projects that are supported. In December 2004, the Northglenn Park Foundation officially became the Northglenn Community Foundation

Mission:

The Northglenn Community Foundation is a special form of public charity, organized to channel tax exempt gifts from individual and corporate donors to a variety of projects in the City of Northglenn.

It is a publicly supported philanthropic institution governed by a local board of private citizens. Grass roots projects of interested individuals or groups are encouraged, as they work the best. Tree and memorial benches are an on-going project. The directors can facilitate access to experts and city staff to assist in projects that benefit the city.

The Foundation encourages the acquisition, retention, development and use of parks, open space, recreational, cultural and leisure facilities in Northglenn.

Currently the board is looking for additional members and ideas, as well as donations.
